Crazy Good Craft Pass Hits Longmont Beer Scene

Great Deals on Brews in LoCo

By Kyle Kirves

The well-travelled – dare I say, worldly -- craft beer enthusiast already knows Longmont, Colorado, as a hotbed destination for suds. Beginning May 23, Visit Longmont is partnering with these artisans of the palate to launch a web app that offers discounts, incentives, and rewards for newcomers and journeypeople alike.

“We have a ton of craft beverage establishments in town,” says Mikayla Adair, marketing communications coordinator for Visit Longmont. “And people already know them. But what’s new with this is that it’s a way for us to tie it all together and collectively promote them while making for a fun experience for visitors.”

The web-based software (it’s not a downloadable app, nor is it a paper passport) – called the Crazy Good Craft pass -- was created by software passport specialists Bandwango. The user experience is wicked fast and friendly, free, and requires no data or app to download. Simply text CRAFT to phone number 720-897-3574, provide an email address, and you’re good to go. Last year, Bandwango created a similar experience for the Colorado Springs area and it was a huge success. It’s a trend Longmont hopes to continue.

“Beginning May 23rd through the end of the year, you’ll have access to all of the individual discounts the merchants are providing,” Mikayla says. “Some of those discounts are one-time offers. But some are available every single day, so you can keep coming back and using that discount again and again.” To redeem the discounts, you need only show the offer to the vendor.

The experience also allows users to find craft products by styles. Sour fan? Find it in the passport. Looking for something in a craft cider instead? Find it in the passport. Prefer to take a bottle of spirits home? You guessed it … you can find it in the passport. Longmont’s renowned BrewHop trolley is also part of the offer program and is happy to convey you from one destination to the next as you embrace your inner Marco Polo.

Like the old RonCo commercials, you know there’s more to the offer. “Visit eight or more establishments and redeem the discount,” Mikayla explains, “and you’ll get a notice on the passport that you can redeem for a free t-shirt.” The shirts feature a custom logo specifically for this program and are only available to passport users.

So, if you’re loco for craft beverages, make LoCo -- Longmont, Colorado -- your destination for a world of flavors and styles, and reap the rewards of Visit Longmont’s new digital pass. Adventures in taste await!

Visit Longmont’s “Crazy Good Craft” pass is available instantly when you text CRAFT to 720-897-3574 with nothing to download or paper products to carry. The passport features Collision Brewing, Brewmented, Brewhop Trolley, GrossenBart Brewery, Left Hand Brewery, Dry Land Distillery, St. Vrain Cidery, Shoes & Brews, Primitive Brewing, 300 Suns Brewery, Wibby Brewing, Still Cellars, Longs Peak Pub, Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel, and Bootstrap Brewing.
