Breckenridge is embracing the growing appreciation of crafty makers with its annual Still on the Hill Craft Spirits Festival. The weekend celebrates the crafty side of Breckenridge with Distillers, Restaurants, Music and Activities.

The highlight of the weekend is the Still on the Hill Grand Tasting from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Riverwalk Center, which will showcase the various products of our craft distillers.

The public can meet the distillers, try the various spirits and vote for their favorite spirit. Many of the distillers make up cocktails featuring their spirits so that guests may experience how the products can be used.

Local restaurants are serving up some creative artisan cuisine and local bartenders will compete for bragging rights in the new cocktail contest. There will also be background bluegrass music by Local Folk- a real gem in the local music scene. Grand Tasting tickets are $70 in advance and $80 day of. Tickets include a tasting glass and entry to the Grand Tasting (must be 21 to enter, it is a no-pet event).

Other events this weekend throughout town include spirits seminars at Breck Distillery, Coa Cantina, Beaver Run and The Tavern Underground and multi-course dinner and spirit pairings at the Prospector and Hearthstone. Enjoy fall in the high country with museum, mine and distillery tours, happy hours and football specials. Breck History will be offering their Historic Walking and Museum Tours and their Darker History Tour.
